Welcome to the World of SEO – Unleash the Power of This Cheap Website Promotional Tool

What is SEO?

SEO is the acronym of Search Engine Optimization. For the understanding of beginners, search engine optimization is the art and science of making a website to perform better with various search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com. In other words, SEO involves a number of activities that make your site search engine friendly.

As you know, search engines offer the platform to extract particular information on almost anything existing in the world. Users generally type in some text known as keyword or key phrase in the search box and get the most relevant information on that keyword in the form of listed web pages. Have you ever wondered how and why these web pages appear in that sequence for a particular keyword?

Search engines normally adhere to a set of rules or algorithm to rank websites or web pages for a certain search query (keyword). So, if your website contains good, original content related a search query and receives high-quality inbound links from other similar websites in great quantity, then the site is highly favored by search engines that give it a high rank in the search results for that query.

Now, we can provide a more advanced definition of SEO which is the process of optimizing your website (or setting it right) according to the preferences of search engines through the implementation of some techniques both on and off the site, so that it obtains a high ranking in search engine result pages (SERPs).

SEO – Advantages & Impact

Preferring search engine optimization can deliver a number of advantages and positive impacts for your website. These include:

1. As search engines nowadays are the most popular online tools among web surfers to look for specific information, the scope of SEO is quite enormous. With millions of search queries every day, search engines can prove to be the ultimate source of potential customers for your products or services.

2. Conventional advertising and promotional techniques bear a local impact. Global promotional techniques call for huge investments that small and mid-size businesses are unable to make. So, search engine optimization becomes all the more important as it is the most powerful online promotional tool having a deep impact on global customer base.

3. Optimizing a website for search engines is the cheapest technique around. Generally, the costs involved in a full-fledged SEO campaign are much lower than that of conventional promotion. Converting a sales lead to a customer can also be performed in a cost-effective manner with the optimization technique.

4. With the help of search engine optimization, your website can receive a large number of highly qualified leads that have maximum chances of becoming customers because they land on your website through search engine result page, looking for their desired product or service you sell.

5. Implementing SEO techniques can allow you to gain valuable knowledge of keywords used by your potential clients to find the products or services you offer. This information will be helpful in identifying customer tastes and preferences and formulating your optimization strategies accordingly. You can also target your end customers in a better way through better positioning of products or services.

6. Search engine optimization can open the door to nonstop generation of revenues through increased web traffic and sales. When your website obtains top ranks for all your profitable keywords, it becomes highly visible among millions of search engine users.

7. This technique is the quiet means of product promotion, devoid of any extravagant advertising tricks. As a result, your prospective clients will find your website offerings more reliable and believable.

SEO – The Past, Present & Future

The field of search engine optimization has been witnessing rapid changes and the same trend will continue in the future also. So, both webmasters and SEO service providers have to be on their toes always to cope with these changes. We’ll take a look at the evolution search engine optimization over the years and its future ahead.

The Past

During the beginning of search engine optimization in the late 1990s, more attention was given to optimizing the on-page factors of websites rather than building link popularity through off-page optimization. We’ll discuss both on-page and off-page optimization in detail later in this article. The reason behind lack of efforts on link popularity is webmasters and Internet marketers were exchanging links with other related websites freely. That was enough to bring traffic to their websites. Banner ads were actually popular during this period.

During the early 2000′s, the popularity of link building gained momentum. You can say, this was the beginning of the era when link popularity outclassed on-page activities. Numerous websites concentrated on building more and more links from related websites and creating sub-domains. On the other hand, it was also the era of rising SEO companies who adopted unprincipled and unfair strategies and techniques to achieve link popularity.

During the middle period of 2000′s, more than 75 percent of all SEO activities were focused on link popularity. This period also witnessed the rise of social networking websites such as Facebook, MySpace, Digg, StumbleUpon, Orkut, etc. that revolutionized the process of interlinking. Search engine optimization turned so prominent that it did away with the need of listing on Yellow Pages for countless businesses around the world. This period was also important for Google as it established itself as the number one search engine.

The Present

Talking about the present scenario, the concept of SEO is in full swing and has become the paramount choice of online businesses to promote their products or services. As stated by Internet Retailer Magazine, the expenditure on search engine optimization worldwide is expected to rise by a staggering 43% this year.

As far as link popularity is concerned, there is no sign of dying away as more than 80 percent of all activities are currently revolved around link building. Such is the craze of link popularity that links have got the status of commodity and are often traded over the Internet by link brokers. The PageRank toolbar offered by Google regarding the importance of a web page has lost some of its sheen for ranking intentions, but it continues to exist for viewing by web surfers only.

As the number of websites is presently numbered in millions, the competition for optimizing the majority of 2-word phrases is getting tougher. The keywords that had mere 50,000 search results some 6 years back have now more than 300,000 search results, thereby making the task of top 10 ranking all the more difficult. This implies that only the most innovative SEO techniques employed by the most competent SEO firms can get you the top ranks for your targeted keywords. So, guaranteed optimization services are not a cakewalk anymore. The advice for webmasters is to choose a service provider cautiously after planning their expenses meticulously.

The Future

In the future, search engines will start to present search results that can be controlled locally. Though noteworthy progress has already been made in this regard by Google, it would be more prevalent in the days to come. Browser-specific results will also be witnessed. Link building will continue its growing streak, but the evaluation of links will get trickier with the advent of more complicated search engine algorithms and link determination factors. On-page optimization will get back to the popularity chart with mounting emphasis on cutting down the website size. Video search will grow in stature with the potential to become the most preferred choice of online marketing.

SEO – Various Processes Involved

Preliminary Analysis of Website

The typical process of search engine optimization starts with the analysis of the present status of the website. Various aspects of the site are closely examined to find out potential problems that need to be sorted out. The content on different web pages is reviewed for duplication and for the presence of keywords. If the present list of keywords is found inadequate, a new list of profitable keywords is prepared. Various important on-page factors that are evaluated during the preliminary website analysis are discussed below.

Keyword Research

Keyword research is the technique employed to investigate and find out potential search phrases that people use to extract information from search engines. Some of the popular tools for keyword research include Google Keyword Tool, Google Webmaster Tools, Google Suggest, Google Trends, Wordtracker, Yahoo Keyword Tool, and Hitwise. This technique must be able to produce keywords that have good search volume and potential capability to compete. Keyword research is also termed as the fundamental principle of web page optimization.

On-Page Optimization

On-page optimization is usually carried out on the website itself and aims at rectifying a number of potential website problems. It has quicker and straighter bearings on SEO results than off-page optimization that takes some time to show effects. On-page optimization takes into account the text and content on various web pages. There are several on page factors that must be addressed properly to make your website search engine friendly. While optimizing your web pages, you must stay away from hidden link or text, cloaking (two versions of the same site for search engine robots and users), and duplicate content.

On Page Factors

Various on-page factors include:

• Search engine optimized web page URLs in your site

• Meta Tags optimization of title, description and keywords

• Link optimization that includes the use of proper anchor text, clean internal linking between various web pages, linking between the home page and other major web pages, and avoidance of broken or dead links

• Image optimization that includes the presence of ALT text or Alternate Text to depict site images, use of purposeful file names for images, use of image title and image linking

• Keyword optimization that includes the use of proper keywords on web pages, modest keyword density, use of synonyms or other pertinent keywords on web pages, etc.

• Vital HTML tags such as header tags (h1, h2, h3), bold (strong) and italic (em). Make sure that there are no errors and warnings in the HTML code.

• Implementation of sitemap to ensure the indexing of all web pages by search engines

• Original and high quality page content

• Browser compatibility for smooth functioning of all web page elements on all browsers

• Fast loading of website

Off-Page Optimization

Off-page optimization involves SEO techniques that enhance your site visibility and link popularity with the help of several external sources. It is all about generating quality backlinks from other websites in massive numbers. The higher the number of quality backlinks for your website, the better ranking your site gets in search engines compared to competitors.

(A) One-Way Backlink Techniques

Directory Submission: It is the technique of submitting a website, its address and description to a large number of web directories that allow webmasters to list their websites in the most appropriate category or sub-category. Some of the large and well-known directories include DMOZ (open directory project), Google and Yahoo. Submitting your website to these directories is very essential from SEO point of view.

Article Submission: It is another effective off-page optimization technique that can create more one-way backlinks to your website. In this technique, well-written articles related your products, services or industry are submitted to hundreds of article directories. When these articles get approved, more and more potential customers can read them to enrich their knowledge as well as click on the link to visit your website. All the articles must be informative and should not contain promotional materials in the title and body.

Press Release Distribution: It is a great way to let your prospective clients know about the special events, developments, offerings and accomplishments happened in your online business. Various press releases highlighting the important features of the website are submitted to online PR directories to give maximum exposure to your business.

Blog Posting: Blogs and blog posts play a significant role in search engine optimization due to their search engine friendliness. They can be enriched with good-quality content as well as links back to your website. Regularly updated blogs can attract a lot of readers as well as potential customers for your website. Blogging is a popular activity on the Internet nowadays with countless blogging websites to server your purpose.

Blog Commenting: Commenting on various blogs related to your business theme is a good way to build one-way backlinks. In blog commenting, you’ll receive a free and open invitation to keep your website link. However, your comments must be meaningful, appealing and related to the subject of the blog. It is said that 3 blog comments are equivalent to additional 100 inbound links per month. So, always search popular blogs posted on high quality blogging websites for commenting.

Forum Discussions: Since search engines index various forum websites frequently, participating in forum discussions can be a good source of generating backlinks with the anchor text of your preference. It is also beneficial from site traffic standpoint. Visit popular and active forums having relevancy to your business and take part in discussions by replying to existing threads. The more time you spend in forums, the more popular you will be among fellow members. Always put links back to your website in your signature.

Social Bookmarking: It is used extensively in search engine optimization to augment your site visibility and promote your online business. There are many social bookmarking websites like Digg and Del.icio.us where you can submit stories or bookmarks containing your website link. Make your bookmarks public so that others can view and follow them to build strong online social networks. Always prefer websites that offer do-follow links to help your SEO endeavors.

(B) Two-Way Link Building

Reciprocal Link Exchange: Reciprocal links are also known as link exchanges, link swaps and link partners. These links are obtained when two websites having similar business theme agree to link to one another. A good amount of reciprocal links can boost your search engine position and site traffic alike. However, you must not overdo this technique. Search in Google to find the list of link exchange websites that provides information on webmasters who regularly swap links with one another. Never go for automated link exchanging to avoid the situation of being involved in link firms that link to completely dissimilar websites.

(C) Three-Way Link Building

Three-Way Reciprocal Link Exchange: This form of link exchange involves three websites instead of two. Though it is practiced on a limited scale, you can give your link exchange a more natural look with it. In three-way link exchange, three distinct websites must be present. For instance, A, B, and C are three websites. Here, A links to B, B links to C and C links to A. Elaborating further, B receives a one-way link from A, but doesn’t link back to it. Similarly, C receives a link from B, but doesn’t reciprocate the same to B. A receives a link from C without linking back to it. You can say three-way link exchange is arranged to hide reciprocal link exchange.

Website Traffic Generation Techniques

Social Bookmarking & Social Networking

Social bookmarks let you to share your favorite websites with other individuals by means of bookmarking or tagging them. There are sites like Digg, Reddit, Del.icio.us and StumbleUpon to create social bookmarks for your online business. However, do not promote your website excessively to bear the wrath of some service providers. You should only bookmark your most excellent pages, blogs and articles to increase traffic to your website.

On the other hand, social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace can promote your products or services in a great way. Just create accounts on those websites particularly for your offerings and update the information regularly. Add surveys, contests, polls and newsletters to arouse interests of people in your business.

Video Promotion

Video promotion or video marketing can ensure constant flow of prospective clients to your website. Visual aids are an effective means to capture the attention of people. Post interesting videos related to your business that can generate interests among the viewers to go for your products or services. YouTube is the prominent website where you can share your videos. Others include DailyMotion, Google Video, Vimeo, Flixya, and BrightCove.

PPC or Pay-per-Click Promotion

PPC advertising services are an alternate to organic search engine optimization. When it becomes difficult to bring your website into the first or second page of search engines for targeted keywords, you can opt for paid searches or sponsored links through Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or MSN AdCenter. Just select your keywords and determine how much you are ready to pay the hosts when a user clicks on your sponsored links or ads. You can acquire a top position in paid searches by paying the highest price for every click.

Article Marketing

Online article marketing is a free way of generating substantial traffic to your website. It involves promoting products or services through the powerful medium of article directories. The majority of article directories witness voluminous traffic and are highly regarded by search engines. So, submit your articles to many different article directories simultaneously to gain good amounts of traffic straightway. Search in Google to get the list of top 50 or top 100 article directories for submission.

Press Release Marketing

When you want to publish some newsworthy events, offerings or achievements of your website, press release marketing is the most popular choice. You can create good traffic for your site by submitting press releases to many PR websites concurrently. However, all the PRs you submit must be attention-grabbing to have productive press release marketing. Some of the popular PR websites consist of PR Log, i-newswire, Pr Log, Press Release Point, Online Pr News and so on.

Why DIY SEO Is An Epic-Fail

A lot of us guys think about saving money on SEO packages before even starting to plan on a SEO campaign. Now this is quite admissible given the fact that the Economic Recession has still not faded from the foreground, and is still a pressing issue for most investors.

However, before starting to talk about how beneficial affordable SEO services can be for your brand new enterprise or online endeavor, let’s check out why trying to compromise too much on SEO packages through DIY SEO can kill your brand!

  • The Design & Development Fails – Oh yes, if you thought you were a Design maverick – you are wrong. We are not saying you can’t design well. In fact, some of the best graphic and web designers don’t work in an agency. But most of the designers do not have an iota of idea about SEO, or how their design should complement an affordable SEO package. Result – no results!
  • Content or SEO Copy is Never Professional – Now you may have a Masters in English, but writing sales copy, specially to complement the efficacy of affordable SEO services is a mean task. For instance, you can write a great academic essay, but to write a sales advertisement to make people visit and read the essay is a completely different thing in itself. And if you haven’t mastered the latter, your DIY SEO packages would be no good – even with an excellent form in academic writing.
  • Keeping Up with the Ever-Evolving SEO Process – SEO services are not a slow-rolling stage-coach that can be hopped on to whenever you feel like – and yet reach the destination in time. In fact, the world of SEO spins so fast that even a week-long absence from the industry may take months of coping up to do – for instance the introduction of “Google Instant” or the “#newtwitter” to quote a few. This is why it is important to get SEO packages sourced from professional firms, rather than suddenly decide to try your hand at it one fine day!
  • Tracking the Results – Yes there are enough tools on the planet to keep track of your SEO campaign’s progress and the gradual achievement of objectives as you move on. However, tweaking your SEO packages in order to weed out the possible or potential failures and spruce up the whole campaign cannot be done in a DIY fashion.
    • In fact, the point that most people miss here is that tracking an SEO campaign is not only to see if the final results have been obtained or not. It is in fact, also to keep streamlining the SEO efforts and gain an advantage over business rivals who probably have employed affordable SEO packages to fly high as well!

So if the purpose of those affordable SEO services is to get to the top of SERPs, you better lose the DIY demon fast and get on with a professional search engine marketing company.

For vital days lost in experimenting may set your SERP clock by years, with no way to recover on the lost value and money.

What To Consider When Outsourcing SEO Services

If a business entity continues to rely on conventional marketing techniques for advertising or promoting itself, chances are it won’t be able to compete with those who already have an established presence online. SEO is a method that offers a wide variety of options for businesses to effectively reach a wider segment of clients and generate added interest from its target markets. Here are a few essential items to consider when planning on outsourcing SEO services.

What Is SEO?
By outsourcing SEO services, a company or firm can potentially improve the overall viability of its web site. For the uninformed, what exactly does SEO mean? The phrase actually stands for the term search engine optimization. This process refers to the act of enhancing the visibility, and credibility, of a web site. Many companies today often outsource their SEO services, mainly to US-based providers, as well as to Indian, European and SEO company Philippines.

White Hat Vs Black Hat SEO
SEO is divided into two major categories- black hat and white SEO. Black hat SEO methods are generally frowned-upon by the search engines, since they often use deceptive and misleading optimization tricks and methods. Among the black hat methods include using hidden or similar-colored texts, and redirecting a human visitor to a different page (cloaking).

White hat SEO techniques are often called ethical search engine optimization methods. These are often crafted to deliver superior-quality content to the audience who is requesting it. A white-hat SEO method doesn’t involve deception, and fully conforms to the search engine’s guidelines. Ethical search engine optimization providers also offer useful services to client web sites. The services may include web site structure and content review, web hosting, content development, keyword research, SEO training, or advice on targeting specific markets and geographies.

Questions To Ask SEO Providers
Before outsourcing SEO services, here are a few questions to ask the service provider. First, can the SEO expert show you examples of their previous work, as well as share some of their success stories? Second, ask the SEO experts if they offer any Internet marketing services which complement your businesses organic search requirements. Third, quiz the provider about their experience in your industry, as well as verify whether they adhere to ethical search engine optimization strategies.

While SEO may not be appropriate for all types of businesses, a well-planned Search engine marketing campaign can help to drive a lot of targeted traffic to the web site. An SEO expert may do this through the creation of high-quality web pages, delivery of fresh content, and fine-tuning the web site’s technical structure to make it search-engine friendly. To learn more about SEO, conduct a thorough research, and regularly log on to leading SEO forums and discussion boards online today. In addition, get more details on how to outsource SEO services from SEO company Philippines and other providers.

SEO Copywriters and the SEO Gold Rush

Despite the fact that there are thousands of SEO copywriters, SEO agencies and other digital magicians in the world-wide marketplace, there must be many more thousands of non-SEO specialists wasting an awful lot of time, money and hope on their own versions of SEO.

The fact is, and it’s probably stating the obvious: there’s only a finite number of slots available on Google’s SERPs pages. In hoping and planning and scheming to reach a coveted Page One Google ranking, there will be lots of disappointed ‘losers’.

It’s easy to see why so much emotional and financial capital is invested in SEO, of course. The potential new business that follows from a high Google ranking is enormous. It’s a pity therefore that there are so many people who think they know all about SEO but in reality know very little. This isn’t helped by the fact that Google regularly moves the goalposts with algorithm changes like its Mayday and Panda Updates.

As with any other gold rush, people are leaving themselves wide open to unscrupulous operators. This will inevitably include some SEO professionals who are well placed to exploit what amounts to communal and monumental ignorance among the wider business community. It should be added, however, that the overwhelming majority would appear to play by the rules and seek only to better their reputation by achieving excellent results for clients using scientific and innovative ‘white hat’ techniques.

Nevertheless, a combination of greed and gullibility among the wider population has created a massive SEO industry that is probably second only to Social Media in its impact on online marketing. There are certain SEO ‘rules’ which Google outlines on its website, but these are generalities for the most part and common sense to anyone who’s spent any time at all looking at the criteria the search engine uses to rank web pages.

This has led an overwhelming number of people to handle their own SEO, partly because they feel there’s enough information out there and partly because they feel no outside SEO company could possibly have the same insight into their business – even if they could afford (or justify) their rates. As with so many other business services, however, employing professionals will ultimately reap dividends and should therefore be regarded as an investment.

There’s really no substitute for employing SEO specialists who focus 100 per cent on what they do, 365 days a year. They bring experience to the table gained from working with other clients. They’re abreast of the latest techniques and changes so they know what’s working (and what may be old hat – or positively damaging for your site’s rankings). And, dare it be said, they often bring a fresh and objective viewpoint which – as outsiders – may well enable them to step more easily into the shoes of their clients’ customers!

Appointing a junior member of staff to scratch around for half-an-hour every day and monitor SEO statistics is no way to approach this subject, even if you have other more rigorous measures in place that diligently tick-off all the boxes that supposedly lead to SEO nirvana. These include the usual suspects such as on-page SEO copywriting, link building and off-page content creation such as online PR, blog posts, article marketing and so on.

It’s unlikely either that many companies will have the in-house expertise in place to complement this level of SEO activity with coding experts who can do a ‘belt-and-braces’ job with things like anchor tags, internal linking and other feats of HTML applied in a regular and systematic way.

What all this boils down to is whether you’re happy to be a struggling amateur when it comes to SEO – or whether you’re prepared to bite the bullet and invest in a SEO professional (whether that’s a full-blown SEO and SEM agency, or perhaps a SEO copywriter). Given that SEO is constantly changing – and given that SEO is a long haul when it comes to ranking well for the more ‘generic’ keywords – this can only be money well spent.

5 Steps To Getting A Home Business Online

Getting a home business online is not as difficult as you may think. If you follow the right steps, you can get your home business on to the world-wide web and start selling your products and services to customers from all over the world.

1. What Products Or Services Are You Going To Sell?

If you’ve already operating a home business, you’ll most likely have some products or services that you’re selling. If not, you can sell products and services that have already been produced by other businesses.

This is called affiliate marketing. It’s a very popular online business model for home based businesses. As an affiliate for a product, you get paid a commission when you sell it. There are countless numbers of both physical and digital affiliate products available to sell online.

2. Create A Website

If you want to get your home business online you know that means building a website. This is often the part that stops many potential entrepreneurs in their tracks. But setting up a website is not as complex as you may believe. There are a number of step-by-step website programs that can get you online quickly. You can even use an outside agency for the whole set up if you want to.

3. Get People To Your Website

You may have the finest products in the world and the greatest looking website, but if nobody knows it is out there, then you’re not going to have any customers.

You can use free website traffic methods or you can pay for your website traffic. Free website tactics include optimizing your website for search engine traffic, writing a blog, video marketing and social media marketing.

Paid website traffic in the form of pay-per-click advertising on search engines and social media and banner ads on popular website.

4. Provide Lots Of Value

It’s very unlikely that somebody will buy from you the first time that they visit your website. By providing lots of useful information on your website, you can demonstrate that you know what you’re talking about. Also, if you can get them to give you their email address, you can stay in contact with them, rather than hoping that they will return to your website again in the future.

5. Develop An Effective Sales Funnel

Typically, a potential customer needs to see your messages 7 to 8 times before they trust you enough to buy something. Email is the perfect way to deliver these messages. Once they have given you their email address, send them a series of emails to guide and inform potential customers as they become familiar with your products or services so that they eventually buy from you.

Critical Tips on Operating a Home Based Legitimate Business Online

Starting home based legitimate business online is just the beginning. What happens after that? This article explores the crucial, yet very often overlooked tips to operate your home based business online to it’s optimum.

Let’s start with your computer. How old is it? If it’s more than 4 years old, up-grade it if you can or better still change it. Look, your business is at stake here, you don’t want to run an online business not knowing if your computer will boot up each time you press the start button. Belief me, this will be worth your investment. A little tip before on purchasing a new computer. If it runs on Windows Vista, make sure the RAM size is 2GB or more. Any lower than that and your computer will be slow to respond. If you are a notebook person like me, make sure to test the screen size you are most comfortable with. A 13.3inch would be the minimum for me. Smaller than that and it will hurt your eyes.

Do you promote affiliate programs? I promote loads of them and that’s why I keep a database of all the programs I am affiliated to in a simple spreadsheet. I include in it the affiliate manager’s url, my affiliate links, login ID, login password, their support email addresses, email address I used to subscribe to them, payment gateways, payment received, payment pending and remarks. This will give you an easy reference and a good way to monitor your paychecks. You can get a free spreadsheet software with OpenOffice.

One thing most people do not do except for IT personnels, is to back up your files. When you are running a home based legitimate business online, your database is everything. For example, I keep a database of my newsletter subscribers, affiliate programs (above) and hosting directories. You should too and always keep a back up copy of them in a secondary storage device like an external hard drive. You can also burn them in a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM. To make this task easier you can store all your important files in a common folder for easy backup. I store all my home based business online stuff in a folder called “IM” for internet marketing. I just copy the whole file when I do a back-up. Simple right.

Here’s another one. Test the availability of your site at least once a day. Key your site’s url in a web browser and make sure your website opens up. After it does, do a random check on the links you have on your site to ensure there are no broken links. If there are then fix them. There may be changes to the links without you knowing about them. There are softwares available in the market you can use to check this for you, but a random manual check is recommended. This way you are actually forcing yourself to spend some time on your site and by so doing, can easily identify irregularities and correct them if any.

Above are some of the more important tips that I have used and still am using to ensure the smooth running of my home based legitimate business online. Though not often being highlighted as part of a marketing strategy, yet can mean the survival of your home based business online venture.

Understanding The Latest Trends in SEO

The website is considered as result oriented and fruitful if it has the caliber to draw heavy traffic. In order to drag traffic on the website, it is mandatory that it should be optimized in regards to the parameters of the search engines. The logic behind this is that you only get visitors if your website appears on the top of the searches with the relevant keywords. The major portion of the population is using the internet services in order to search products and services. They use keywords while doing the search on the search engine. For example, if you want to go for the dinner, then you will search “best restaurant in New Delhi”. With this, the search engine will manifest the list of different websites of the restaurants which are optimized for this particular keyword.

The search engine algorithms are changing day by day. The reason behind this is that they want to provide authentic information to the users. To ensure this, they are regularly updating their algorithms. The latest algorithm updates of Google like Panda, etc are changing the conventional ways of SEO. According to the recent update, search engines like Google have decreased their updating timing. They are now striving to bring fresh information in the searches.

The SEO is divided into two categories: On Page Optimization & Off Page Optimization.

The On Page optimization includes activities which are performed on the website. These activities involve the inclusion of page titles, image titles, meta tags and description. These are considered as essentials in order to improve the ranking of the website. If these essentials are not present, then the website will not be able to attract the search engines bots. Thus, it will not get the top spot in the searches.

As SEO has changed, everyday SEO professionals use new techniques to improve the ranking and visibility of the website. One most influential way of improving the ranking is “keyword blogging”. This activity serves two purposes. One, it helps in updating the website with the fresh content. Secondly, it helps in targeting the keyword and also provides the opportunity for internal link building. The bots also count inter-links while estimating the authority of the website. So, it is considered as a very good step.

After On Page, there comes Off Page optimization. It revolves around the content marketing. In this, the authentic content is spread across different platforms in order to bring traffic. The content in the form of articles, blogs, PPT, PDF, social bookmarking, classified ads, etc is spread so as to generate back link. The philosophy behind this is that if someone likes your information, then (s)he will certainly navigate to your website by following the link. This helps in dragging traffic to your website.

The SEO is changing at very swift pace. It is but obvious that you should update your website frequently in order to get improved ranking and visibility. The updating will help in attracting search engine bots, which eventually results in taking your website on the top of the searches.

List Building Explained – For Both Novice and Experienced Marketers

If you are an internet marketer you have surely heard the phrase “the money is in the list”. This phrase could more realistically be stated as “the money is in your relationship with your list”. The main reason for list building is so you can build relationships with people who are interested in your website or products or services. Think about this: what happens when you purchase a product from say, Best Buys? The company asks for your email address so they can send you product information or pricing specials or coupons for you on your birthday. They want your email address to they can stay in contact with you to keep you interested in their products or services. This is why you must build a list if you have an internet online business of any kind.

There are several different list building techniques marketers use for their list building strategies. These can include, but not be limited to:

• Squeeze Pages or Landing Pages
• Newsletters or Email Marketing
• E-Courses • Article Marketing
• Free eBooks
• Free membership web sites
• Pop-up Advertising
• Social Media Marketing/Bookmarking
• Purchased email lists
• Use of a viral marketing website

Any of the above list building tools can be used in such a way that a good marketer can capture the contact information of their user. Once you have their contact information, you can begin building a relationship with the user. Maybe they signed up to read your regular newsletter about weight loss because your newsletter is informative, innovative, and offers tips and/or advice to those people wanting to lose weight. As a marketer, you could offer your readers free stuff, like free e-Books, or a free membership to your weight loss blog. Then, once you have begun to build a relationship with your user, the user will begin to trust you and you can begin selling or recommending products and/or services to them.

Through this process you will become a list building expert. However, you must keep this very important concept in mind: you are building a relationship with your users so your users or readers must be able to trust you. If you have their contact information, you must keep it private. That is, do not sell the information that they have entrusted to you to another person or business. Obviously doing something like this to your users would keep them from trusting you and they certainly won’t end up buying any of your products or services.

Follow these simple list building tips:

• Locate people online who share a common interest, or determine a niche
• Gather their names and email addresses with an opt-in form on your landing or squeeze page
• Become an affiliate seller of products that would interest the people on your list
• Send an email or newsletter to the people on the list that contains a link to some product you want to sell
• Give things to your readers/users. Don’t always try to hard sell them something. They will tire of that in a hurry.

I know experienced marketers who have lists of up to 50,000 people. One has told me that when he needs money, he finds something useful and not too pricey, like say a new Clickbank product, and he sends out ads to his list. He can instantly earn several thousand dollars because his list is so responsive. His list is responsive because he has taken the time to build relationships with the people on his list. Now you must realize that it took him several years to build this list, but this can help you see why you must begin your opt-in list building today. It is very important for you as your business grows.

So let me give you this list building advice: no matter what you are marketing online, you should always be working on your opt-in list building as well. This will go a long way to making sure you have future income.

List Building Overview

With so much information out there it’s easy to think that everyone (except you) is busy building their list and making money. You struggle to sell things online, when you don’t need to.

The good news is that you really can begin building your own mailing list, today, by taking some specific actions.

So, why would you want a mailing list of your own?

  1. In the history of the Internet it has been observed that a full 99% of people who succeed online long-term have a list of their own. Now that’s not scientific but it’s true.
  2. When you have a list of your own you completely eliminate advertising costs. I mean completely. With your own list you can promote anything you want any time you want and as often as you want… for zero cost.

To gain a little understanding, let’s look at the who, what, when, where, why and how of list building.

WHO SHOULD BUILD A LIST?

There is an easy answer to this question. The answer is… anyone who is serious about building an online business or making money online.

If you are marketing online as a short-term thing and you aren’t really committed to succeeding online, then list building is probably not right for you.

The reason is simple – once you have a list you need to stay in touch with them and let them get to know you a bit so they can like you, trust you and buy from you.

Please notice that order because it’s important. They need to like you before they can trust you. And they need to trust you before they will buy from you!

WHAT IS NEEDED TO BUILD A LIST?

  1. A squeeze page. You can use a blog (or other page), but squeeze pages work best.
  2. An auto-responder to capture leads and send follow-up messages.
  3. Something of value to get people to join your list. People care about WIIFM (what’s in it for me) and providing a high-value “subscriber magnet” works well. Video series and downloadable PDF reports work especially well.
  4. Email messages you can send automatically to the people who sign up for your list.
  5. Great products to promote to your list. The goal is to make sales, so provide helpful articles about a specific problem and then offer to solve that problem for your reader by suggesting a product. Don’t push the product, the sales letter of the product will do that. You just sell the click by creating curiosity.
  6. Targeted traffic. Simple, yet important. Once you have your system in place you want to market to people who you KNOW need what you are offering. It’s called target marketing and it is the most important skill online.

If you have, or can learn to get, these six things you will have all you need to build a real and lasting online business.

WHEN IS IT SMART TO BUILD A LIST?

If you are not building a list now, it’s time to get started.

If you see the logic of needing a list, commit to doing something every day toward building your own list.

I have spoken with literally thousands of people and can tell you that they ALL wish they had begun building their list when they started working online.

Most lost huge amounts of time trying this system and falling for this other hyped-up deal. We’ve all been there.

All we have is today. And today is the PERFECT time to get started building your list.

WHERE CAN I START BUILDING A LIST?

The best place to get started in my view is Aweber. Aweber is not only the best auto-responder, but they have an incredible free series of videos to teach you the steps you need.

WHY WOULD I WANT TO BUILD A LIST?

Easy: to make money by selling things. That might mean affiliate marketing or selling your own product or something else.

But if you are online to make money then list building matters… a lot.

Here’s another reason – when you have a list, you become a sought-after joint venture partner. You might not believe me right now but trust me when I say that if you build a powerful list the top marketers online will come a knockin’ on your door. They will want to reach YOUR audience. How cool would that be?

HOW CAN I START BUILDING A MAILING LIST?

The first step is to see the big picture. I hope this article helped you do that.

Take a moment to review the six points in the “What is needed” section above. Use it as your list-building blueprint if you like.

I will tell you that having a mailing list of my own, and knowing what to do with it and how to develop trust and relationship, has been the most profitable thing I’ve ever done online.

About twice a year I’m asked “what would you do if you lost everything – how would you start over?”

My answer probably won’t surprise you — I would focus 100% of my efforts on building a list and giving the people on that list incredible value.

Once you do that selling takes care of itself and becomes automatic.

And having an automated selling system (or 12 of them) is a beautiful thing indeed!

The Best Way to Learn Something New

When learning something new, the quickest easiest most successful way is to find a great coach and mentor. Recommendations are great, or Google the trainer you have in mind especially if the training involves the internet.

If you are learning anything, driving, hobbies, or even setting up a business expert advice to copy is the best way.

You need someone on hand to answer questions, offer training and monitor progress to make sure actions are followed in the right manner. Tutors work in schools, colleges and universities to teach and guide students, apprenticeships work in a similar way. Online language courses are guided with sound tracks to test yourself. Nurses are trained in hospital with supervision from superiors, in virtually all areas of life people are advised by others.

Imagine athletes perfecting their style, golfers wanting to improve their swing without a coach. They may be picking up bad habits that are hard to correct in stance or execution. the same applies to most forms of learning, even learning a language, there is usually a voice operated system to copy.

So you need to be sure the coach you have chosen is honest and trustworthy and that they offer training that suits your learning style. Video is good as you can stop and start the video as you attempt to copy the actions. which is probably why YouTube videos have become so popular. However you also need direction to guide you through the learning process

There are currently 2,000,000,000 people daily searching Google for ways to work at home. A growing popularity of the internet, the growth of the relatively new industry and the fact that computers are included in the curriculum for schools. Most families now have laptops and other similar devices.

Franchises have always been popular because of the higher success rate that support gives the venture. The training the supervision and the system to copy. Internet marketing with a good coach and mentor works in a similar way without the extortionate expense of many franchises.

I am very lucky I found a great coach when I set out to develop an online business, it made my learning curve much faster and simpler. I didn’t feel so isolated or overwhelmed. Not only did I have a coach but the comradeship and support of others learning too.

Another advantage is regular training and a great range of best-selling products provided for your customers and whilst you are learning the techniques you can earn commissions too. I found it much simpler than attempting to learn it all by my-self, source best-sellers and service my customers, when much of it was done for me.

So if a new venture appeals to you look out for a great coach, take a look at magazine racks for topic ideas and enjoy your new venture.

Make 2017 a year to remember!
